Have you ever gone into a business meeting having never personally met the two middle-aged men you are scheduled to discuss writing their website for (one of whom is a convicted white-collar felon), and when you arrived you were greeted outside by them, and they ushered you inside to a large, semi-dark and completely empty office in the middle of a Thursday workday, where after some brief, compensatory chatter, one of them locked the door behind you and asked you to follow the two of them down the hall to his office to, supposedly, discuss business, and you bolted immediately because you can just never be too safe in this crazy world, business notwithstanding, and especially because you met the guy on the sometimes-sketchy Craigslist?
Uh....unfortunately, me too.

so glad you trust your instincts..spidey sense
I'm not sure if you have said what state you live in but there is a good chance you can get a license to carry a concealed weapon. Get some training (I can recommend trainers in many states) a good handgun and you will stand a much better chance of not getting hurt if your "Spidy Sense" doesn't kick in soon enough. Most training will help you develop your instints for leaving a situation as well.
Thanks Joe, but packing heat is not really my bag. I should've trusted my initial instincts that were warning me two days before the meeting even occurred. But I didn't. Next time, though, I will.

That's f&*ke6 up! Man oh man you were lucky!
Yes, I agree. I was VERY lucky! I have no idea if there were any intentions on their part, but I didn't want to stick around to find out. I suppose I will never know for sure...

Wow! This is your good friend Doug. Thats like so weeard. I'm glad you left and I didn't have to come down there to kick some serious ass! Maybe you should do a backgound check on them if thats possible. What was there website supposed to be about?
Doug! Yes, I DID a background check on him. Funny about that, it did NOT turn up his felony, he was forthcoming about that to me several months ago. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because it was a white collar crime. Can't divulge the type of website, but it was vanilla/business stuff.
And, I know you would seriously kick their ass if anything had happened to me :)
I miss you and Genevieve a TON!!!! But, I will see you soon enough when we all celebrate my big *gasp* 4-0 xoxoxoxoxxo~Sadie
